Nandprayag – The famous confluence of river Alaknanda and Nandakini

Nandaprayag, a holy town in the Uttarakhand state of India, is part of the Five Sacred Confluences of the holy rivers, called “Panch Prayags.” The town is situated on the confluence of the Alaknanda and Nandakini rivers, which provide the name to this site, and it holds great mythological significance. This site is a significant stop on the Panch Prayags circuit, Do dham yatra or Char dham yatra route and is also known as the former capital of the Yadu Kingdom of Dwapar Yug. The holy confluence is located in the lap of the Himalaya at an altitude of 1358 meters (4455 feet), surrounded by the beautiful Himalayan scenery and many spiritual sites, which offer a serene environment for spiritual seekers and nature lovers.
